The first spy photos and some renderings of the upcoming 2021 Hyundai Creta seven-seater SUV have appeared online. From most of the rumors, the next generation is coming to the markets by the end of the year and it will be available to various markets. First thing first, the new seven-seater SUV will be launched in India and it will be the main competitor to the famous Mahindra XUV500.
Just like the most of Hyundai models, Creta will wear the same recognized design language. As you may already know, this SUV is also available as a five-seater. However, both versions are expected to gain numerous improvements. Also, we can expect even some mechanical changes.
2021 Creta Exterior Facelift
The new-gen 2021 Hyundai Creta will ride on the same K2 architecture that also underpins the new Kia Seltos model. However, this platform will be a little extended because of the seven-seat configuration. However, the wheelbase will largely remain the same. As we mentioned at the beginning, the new SUV has been recently spied and at first glance, this model looks refreshed.
Most of the updates include a new grille and reshaped headlights. Besides that, on the back, the seven-seater Creta host new taillights and slightly bolder bumper. You can also count on the better and stylish wheels and more updates on the final version.
The new 2021 Hyundai Creta will get more modern touches inside than before. As we mentioned, the recently spied model reveals that there will be even two configurations. The regular model will come with two rows of seats and can host five occupants. However, the bigger model will get the third row and there will be enough rooms for seven passengers. The regular model will still provide the same boot space of 15.3 cubic feet. According to many reports, Hyundai is working on flexible seats that should improve the cargo area. However, we cannot for sure tell if the third row will be compromised boot-space.
Besides great arrangments inside, the South Korean manufacturer will also add more standard features. Expect better materials inside and a brand-new portrait-style infotainment display.
Three Engine Options
In terms of performances, the 2021 Hyundai Creta will be offered with three engine options. There will be two types of gasoline and a single diesel engine. Thanks to the same platform that also underpins the latest Seltos model, the forthcoming Creta will use the same 1.4-liter gasoline that will be able to deliver 113 hp and 106 lb-ft of torque. This model will use the front-wheel-drive system.
The next engine is more powerful and is optional. This powertrain consists of 1.5-liter gasoline that makes 116 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. Finally, diesel engines will be also available and it uses a 1.5-liter powertrain that generates 140 horses. This model will use an automatic transmission with the torque convertor. However, choosing the gasoline powertrain buyers can get either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
