The 2021 Ford Escape will get mid-cycle refreshments for the next year. Escape SUV is one of the best-selling Blue Oval’s nameplates the last couple of years and fourth-generation will bring even more changes than before. However, this SUV will continue to offer two rows of seats, and it provides rooms for five occupants.
Also, thanks to its compact dimensions, the new model will keep competing with models like Mazda CX-5, Toyota RAV4, and Honda CR-V. Also, known as Ford Kuga on European markets, the Escape will be offered with three engine options, and one of them is the new hybrid.
2021 Escape Exterior Facelift
The upcoming 2021 Ford Escape crossover SUV will be facelifted, and it will compete with the best middle-size SUVs on the market. This model is trendy because it offers an attractive appearance and modern styling. It is made on the global platform that uses a combination of high-strength steel and aluminum.
The front fascia of this model will be similar to some European sports-crossover. Also, the same styling is present on the small Focus model. We like the new grille that grows significantly and the new slanted and slightly squinted LED headlamps. Aerodynamic is also improved, and roof racks offer low profile to cut wind resistance.
Interior Features, Cargo Space
The 2021 Ford Escape will be redesigned, and it will provide a longer and wider cabin. Thanks to that, this model will be affording more cargo and passenger space inside. Also, we must mention that the Escape model has one of the best cabins in the compact crossover SUV segment.
Inside, this model is modern and unique. On top of that, techs will be updated. The Ford manufacturer will use the new eight-inch touchscreen on the SE trim and above, and it will put more quality materials. Two rows of seats are available and can place five passengers. Also, seats are comfortable, and visibility is excellent. Cargo area is a way better than before with 68.3 cubic feet.
2021 Ford Escape Powertrain Options
The upcoming 2021 Ford Escape reliable SUV that available with the same three engine options. The first powertrain that powers this SUV is a 1.5-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost. This unit produces 180 hp and 177 lb-ft of torque.
The next one is one of our favorite 2.0-liter turbo-four and is optional. However, this engine is stronger, and it delivers 245 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of twist. Both powertrains will be connected to relatively new 8-speed automatic transmission.
A plug-in variant is the third powertrain option. This engine is available on the SE Sport trim as standard. Besides the more muscular and eco-friendly look, this model comes with a 2,5-litre engine, a 48-volt electric system, and a belt-driver alternator. According to Ford manufacturer, with this system, the plug-in variant promises on all-electric driving 50 miles range.
2021 Ford Escape Price and Release Date
The price of the all-new 2021 Ford Escape will remain the same as before. The base model starts at $25,000, while the SEL trim cost around $30,500. Furthermore, the top-trim Titanium that comes with lots of techs is priced at $36,000. A plug-in hybrid version will be also available, and it will cost over $32,000.
As we already wrote at the beginning, the new Ford Escape will compete with Honda CR-V, Mazda CX-5, and Toyota RAV4 models. The debut of the 2021 Ford Escape will be later in 2020.
