The new 2021 BMW X5 is coming to the markets. The upcoming model will introduce numerous changes. However, a plug-in hybrid powertrain is the highlight of the all-new model. Mid-size SUV will introduce plenty of luxury and it will look better than ever before. There will be four trim levels and you can expect real luxury on the upper trims.
German manufacturer offers an amazing list of standard features for the base model. Some parts are looking sporty and very upscale. Interior is very comfortable and it looks truly modern. A hybrid model will also offer a room for seven and it won’t depart from the gasoline variant in terms of design.
2021 BMW X5 Looks Really Impressive
The all-new 2021 BMW X5 will look refreshed and upscale. Design now looks more pronounced but don’t expect significant changes. The front part offers the same double kidney grille with adaptive LED headlights. 19-inch wheels are available while you can buy optional 20-inch rims. The rear part sports LED taillights and two-piece tailgate.
Bumpers are slightly larger than before and styling looks really impressive. Vents are changes and some parts are looking sleeker than on the current model. You can opt for an off-road package that includes modified suspension, skid plates and much more. X5 Hybrid won’t depart from the gasoline version in terms of design and styling.
BMW X5 Cabin Offers a Room For Seven Persons
Just like the base version, the 2021 BMW X5 Hybrid will also offer a room for seven persons. That means a three-row layout is available once again. When we talk about the best interior in the mid-size SUV segment, X5 offers one of the most upscale cabins. Front seats are 8-way adjustable and are very supportive.
Comfort is guaranteed and the interior room is generous as well. Cargo area is rated at 34.0 cubic feet. Folding the rear seats opens up to 72.4 cubes. When it comes to changes, new X5 Hybrid won’t introduce so many upgrades. The infotainment system is up to date and we can expect fewer buttons this time. BMW offers an optional “Sky Lounge” panorama roof and leather upholstery. When it comes to features, the cabin is tech-rich. Upcoming BMW X5 Hybrid comes with keyless entry, navigation, ambient lighting, and Bluetooth. On top of that, numerous USB ports, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and larger displays are available too.
2021 BMW X5 Powertrain
When it comes to performance, the new 2021 BMW X5 will offer truly great powertrain. A plug-in hybrid variant comes with an electric motor paired with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo six-cylinder engine. This output is good for 395 HP and 445 lb-ft of torque. This mid-size SUV sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds.
Interestingly, BMW offers the largest battery in the segment. X5 Hybrid variant will offer around 40 miles of driving range. The electric motor adds around 50 horses and almost 100 lb-ft of torque. For that reason, a new hybrid version offers more power than the regular gasoline model.
Price Range and Production
Just like the base variant, a hybrid version is also available in four trim levels. The price of the regular X5 starts at around $60,000. The 2021 BMW X5 Hybrid will cost $66,000.
The range-topping trim level is priced at over $80,000. The German automaker will release its newest model in the last quarter of 2020. The competition is tough, and the new BMW X5 will try to take rivals such as Audi Q5, Mercedes-Benz GLE, and Porsche Cayenne.
