German’s popular carmaker Audi will expand its portfolio with a new 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback. Generally, the recently revealed model hosts almost the same proportion and shape as the standard Q5.
Besides this model, the company is also working on several Sportback variants, including the E-Tron and Q4 concept. Overall, the latest Q5 Sportback wears the facelifted look including a sloping roofline, a revised front fascia with new intakes, sharper LED headlights as the taillights.

As Audi promised, the newest Sportback features a fresh and attractive design. Fun fact, compared to the regular model, the Sportback SUV, including a more sloping roofline. Also, the design is revised, and we can see that Audi added a new intake, sharper LED headlights, and OLED taillights.
Like on the regular model, Audi is also offering several different suspension as the steel setup and multiple adjustable options. On top of that, air suspension is available as well, and it can raise and lower this SUV up to 2.4 inches. Generally, this is ideal, especially for off-roading.
Interior Includes a New 10.1-Inch Touchscreen
The latest 2021 Audi Q5 Sportback opposed to the regular model will feature an updated cabin with Audi’s MIB 3 software. However, like the regular model, the Sportback will include the same layout and enough room for five passengers in two rows. Stepping in, you’ll first notice a new dash that’s hosting a large 10.1-inch touchscreen, different that we saw on newly introduced Q3 and Q8. Overall, the design is modern, and Audi’s Virtual Cockpit digital instrument cluster comes standard as the wireless Apple Carplay, and ambient lighting. Thanks to that, Sportback is featuring a familiar and upscale feel.
However, Audi wasn’t specific on how much headroom the Sportback loses on the back, because of the sloping roof. During a presentation, some of the car’s engineers revealed that a six-foot-tall passenger would have “plenty” of space behind.
The latest model hasn’t yet been tested from NHTSA. However, consider that it is based on the Q5 model, expect the same standard safety equipment. That means it will offer driver-assistance technology such as automated emergency braking and forward-collision warning, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, and other assists.
2021 Audi Q5 Sportback Powertrain Specs
From what we heard, Audi will most likely not offer the plug-in hybrid powertrain with the new Sportback. However, the manufacturer will offer normal and S versions with four-cylinder and six-cylinder engines, respectively.
The standard model will probably use a mild-hybrid 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine. This engine is producing 261 horsepower (195 Kilowatts) and 273 pound-feet (370 Newton-meters). However, the beefier model will come with a potent 3.0-liter V6 turbocharged that produces 349 horses and 369 lb-ft (260 kW and 500 Nm).
