The Subaru carmaker is currently been working on its largest SUV in the lineup and it is named the Ascent model. However, the latest news claim that the carmaker will also reveal the newest version of this model which will enter the market this fall as the 2020 Subaru Ascent. However, the upcoming Ascent should get some subtle changes this time and those should include some new features and new colors for the exterior and interior. Engine and performance of the 2020 Subaru Ascent
The 2020 Subaru Ascent will come back to the market with the same engine which powers the current model and there is one sole option for all the trim levels. So, it is a 2.4-liter flat-4 turbocharged engine which is able to make 260 horses and 277 pound-feet of torque. The engine will be mated to a continuously variable transmission and will have 8-speed manual mode with paddle shifters. All the models will get the all-wheel drive system as standard but the fuel economy will differ depending on a model. So, the base model will be rated at 21 mpg in the city and 27 mpg on the highway. The Limited and Touring models will get 20 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway.
The exterior and interior design of the 2020 Subaru Ascent
The 2020 Subaru Ascent will arrive to the market with a few exterior changes and those will most likely include new colors and designs of the wheels. However, like before, the 2020 Subaru Ascent will come with the 18-inch wheels as standard while the higher trim levels will get the larger 20-inch wheels. Although it is not yet officially confirmed, the 2020 Subaru Ascent will most likely hit the market in the third quarter of this year. Its price is expected to be in a range from $32,900 to $45,600 which is the price of the current model.
