The new 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe has been announced, but for now, there is no information when exactly should be presented to the world. However, the 2020 model year won’t get any significant changes since the current, 2019 version has just been released fully revised. Therefore, the new Santa Fe will come with two engines available and will be offered with front-wheel and all-wheel drive layouts. The interior is now more quality and more spacious so it provides more comfort for all the occupants. Furthermore, it will be available in several trim levels which are all well-equipped.
Engines and performances of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe
The 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe will arrive at the market with the same engines as the current model. And there will be two engines available. The base is going to be a 2.4-liter inline-4 engine which is able to make 185 horses. However, the Santa Fe will also feature an optional engine and it is a 2.0-liter turbo- 4-cylinder powertrain. This one will be able to generate 235 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Both engines will be coupled to an 8-speed automatic transmission. The front-wheel drive unit will be standard while the all-wheel drive configuration will be offered as optional.
As for the fuel economy, the standard FWD model with base engine is rated at 22 mpg in the city, 29 mpg on the highway, and 25 mpg combined. The second option with front-wheel drive version gets 20 mpg in the city, 25 mpg on the highway, and 22 mpg combined. The all-wheel drive versions will get a 1 or 2 mpg less compared to the FWD models. Furthermore, the new 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe should get a diesel engine too. But for now, there are no further details available. As well, the new Santa Fe N model will most likely get a 2.5-liter unit which should be able to deliver at least 300 horsepower.
The exterior design of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe
Since the 2019 model year has been completely overhauled, we expect no significant changes for the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. So, the new Hyundai is now larger and taller, and it also features a more SUV-like shape than the previous models. It is longer for around 3 inches. The front end is now dominated by a larger and more aggressive grille and a pair of slim, swept-back headlights. As well, the halogen headlamps are standard while the LED lights will be offered in higher trim levels. So, the whole front fascia will look bolder compared to the previous model. The rear end is also revised and it is more upright and has a vertical tailgate. Moreover, the windows are also larger than before.

The higher trim levels will get a larger 8.0-inch screen. As before, the new Hyundai will come with two rows of seats. And it will be able to welcome up to five passengers comfortably. Thanks to a full redesign for the 2019 model year, the Santa Fe is now more comfortable. And it offers more room because of the larger dimensions. The rear seat passengers now come with more than 40 inches of legroom. As well, the front seats are also cozier and are better bolstered.
Speaking of the cargo space, with all seats up, the Hyundai has the room of almost 36 cubic feet. However, with the second row folded down, there is a room of more than 71 cubic feet. All the materials used in its design are of high quality and the more expensive models come with leather upholstery.
The equipment of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe
Like the current version, the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe will be offered in several trim levels. And those include SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited, and Ultimate versions. The standard equipment of the base model will include power windows, active safety tech, Bluetooth, cloth seats, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and so on. As for the safety, every model will get blind-spot monitors, automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic alert, a rearview camera, active lane control, adaptive cruise control, etc.
The higher trim Ultimate will add leather seats, heated rear seats, heated and cooled front seats, premium audio system, a surround-view camera, heated steering wheel, an 8.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment, head-up display, and automatic wipers. The Limited model will also get premium audio, keyless ignition, dual-zone climate control, leather upholstery, navigation, BlueLink infotainment system, and many others.
Release date and price
There is still no information about the release date of the 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe. The price should stay in a range between $26,500 and $39,800 which is the price of the current model.
