As we already wrote, the upcoming 2020 Hyundai Kona will be available with gasoline, diesel and electric engines. The base one is the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline that produces 147 HP and 132 lb-ft of torque. This engine comes with 6-speed automatic transmission.

The next one that is optional is the 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbocharged diesel that delivers 175 horses and 195 lb-ft of torque. Furthermore, this type of engine will be offered with 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. Both engines above will come with the front wheel drive system as standard, while the all-wheel-drive setup is optional.

The last and the most popular is 2020 Hyundai Kona Electric model. According to the officials, this SUV will be available with two different outputs. However, only one is available for now to the public. The electric motor and the battery pack on the base Kona electric will deliver 292 miles on a single charge. This model will produce 200 lb-ft of torque and it will be able to run from 0 to 60 mph in 7.5 seconds.

Release Date and Price

The price of the base 2020 Hyundai Kona models will start at $26,000. However, if one chooses to go for the Kona electric the price will be increased to $35,000 for the model with lower output. The stronger battery pack will add to the price of a thousand dollars more. The new 2020 Hyundai Konda will hit the markets in the middle of 2020.
