The Audi’s popular three-row SUV blends perfectly an attractive design, spacious interior, and premium technology all in one. It comes with a choice of tow strong engine and the new 2020 Audi Q7 should also get a plug-in hybrid engine as well, so as the high-performance SQ7 version. In the terms of styling and design, the newest Q7 shouldn’t be majorly different from the current version.
Engines and performances of the 2020 Audi Q7
The 2020 Audi Q7 will return with several types of engines under its hood. The base will once again be a 2.0-liter inline-4 turbocharged engine. This unit will have the output of 252 horsepower and 273 pound-feet of torque. It will be able to hit 60 mph in just 7.1 seconds. Speaking of the fuel economy, it gets 19 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway.
The next option is a 3.0-liter supercharged V-6 powertrain. It will be able to deliver 333 horses and 325 pound-feet of torque. This one will go from 0 to 60 mph in 5.7 seconds and will have the towing capacity of 7,700 pounds while the inline-4 engine is rated at 4,400 pounds. Both engines will be mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and will come standard with all-wheel drive configuration.
Furthermore, according to some sources, the Q7 will feature a plug-in hybrid engine as well. It will be a combination of a 3.0-liter V-6 unit and an electric motor. The total output of this unit should be around 258 horses and 442 lb-ft of torque. The Quattro all-wheel drive system will be standard. On the other hand, the most powerful version, the SQ7 will get a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. This one will be able to generate 435 hp and 660 lb-ft of torque. It will hit 62 mph in just 4.8 seconds.
Design of exterior
In the terms of exterior design, the 2020 Audi Q7 will look sleek and handsome as usual. The front end wears a wide and massive single-frame grille and conventional headlamps which are standard on the Prestige trim while optional on the Premium model. The profile of the vehicle will feature more like a tall wagon design. The rear end of the vehicle will get a bolder design and sporty looking dual exhaust outlets. Depending on a trim level, the new Q7 will come with several designs of the wheels which will be offered in sizes from 18 inches to 20 inches.
The interior design of the 2020 Audi Q7
Inside the cabin, the 2020 Audi Q7 looks absolutely amazing with its quality materials, excellent comfort, and top-notch equipment. It features three rows of seats and the first and the second row can welcome five passengers comfortably. The third row is, however, the best for children. All the seats are upholstered in high-quality leather and they are very comfortable even at long drives. The cargo room is also pretty good and behind the third row, the Q7 comes with 15 cubic feet. Of course, the third row is power folding which increases the cargo room if needed.
The dashboard is fitted with a standard 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment system and Apple CarPlay connectivity. As well, we will also notice nice glossy or matte wood details and soft-touch plastics which will give it more luxurious look.
2020 Audi Q7 features and safety
As before, the 2020 Audi Q7 should be available in three trim levels and those are the base Premium, mid-range Premium Plus, and the range-topping Prestige model. The base model will include power fronts seats, leather upholstery, a rearview camera, automatic windshield wipers, a panoramic moonroof, a power-folding third row, keyless ignition, Bluetooth, audio system with 10 speakers, a 7.0-inch touchscreen, and USB port.
The Premium Plus model will add Bose speakers, LED interior lights, a power-adjustable steering column, and the navigation package. Some of the options will include the Driver Assistance Package which will add adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, and the Vision package which will come with LED headlights, a surround-view camera, and the Digital Cockpit system. The Digital Cockpit system will feature a larger 12.3-inch LCD screen. The four-zone climate control, larger wheels, and ventilated front seats will also be optional.
Furthermore, the Prestige model will come with larger alloy wheels, the Vision Package, and automatic door closers. As well, it will be offered with a Luxury package which will add ventilated front seats, a massaging function, nicer leather, and an Alcantara synthetic suede leather.
Release date and price
There is still no official information about the arrival of the new 2020 Audi Q7, but it could arrive sometime during 2019. The price is also not known for now. However, we don’t anticipate a major departure from the current model which starts at around $50,900 while the range-topping model costs roughly $66,000.
