The Hyundai carmaker has presented its all-new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe which will represent the next generation model. The fourth-generation Santa Fe will be larger than its predecessor and therefore it will get a roomier cabin and more comfort. There will also be the new and larger version called XL which will come standard with three rows of seats. Furthermore, the new Hyundai will look more aggressive and bolder and will be offered with three engines including a new diesel unit. This time, it will be available in several trim levels and those will be the base SE, SEL, SEL Plus, Limited, Ultimate, and 2.2D models.
Engines and performances of the 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe
The all-new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe comes with a choice of three engines this time. So, the base engine is going to be a 2.4-liter inline-4 which is able to develop 185 horses and 178 pound-feet of torque. For those who want a stronger unit, there is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. This one has the output of 235 horsepower and the torque of 260 pound-feet.
On the other hand, the Santa Fe will get an XL version which will be powered by the new diesel engine. It is a 2.2-liter turbodiesel-4 which has the output of 190 horses and 322 pound-feet of torque. All the engines will be mated to a new 8-speed automatic transmission and will come standard with front-wheel drive configuration. However, the all-wheel drive will also be offered and it will be optional. The fuel economy of the engines is not yet rated.
Design of exterior and interior
The all-new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will represent the fourth generation and will bring various changes and novelties. Visually, the Santa Fe is now slightly larger which will affect its interior space and make it roomier than the current model. As well, it will now feature a more upright design and an SUV-like and squarer shape. So, the Santa Fe will look bolder especially on the front. It will get a new trapezoidal grille which will be massive and new slim swept-back headlamps which will make it appear more aggressive as well. Moreover, perhaps one of the most noticeable changes will be a new vertical tailgate. Furthermore, the carmaker has also introduced the new and longer version called Santa Fe XL while the standard model will be named Santa Fe Sport.
As for the interior, the new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe will get more space for all the passengers and both front and rear head and leg room will be improved. The standard model will come with two-row seating configuration and will be able to accommodate five passengers. However, there will also be the larger XL model which will feature three rows of seats. The comfort of the cabin will be exceptional and there will be more cupholders and door pockets. The dashboard will be wide and will feature a 7.0-inch touchscreen for the infotainment in the center and an instrument pod in front of the driver.
